Warung Leko

Those who loves Indonesian food, this place might be worth a try! This restaurant serves the best Iga Penyet I have ever eaten. Yum :9

For you who don't know what iga penyet is, here is a definition from Wikipedia: Iga penyet (English: Squeezed ribs) is Indonesian — more precisely East Javanese cuisine — fried beef spare ribs served with spicy sambal terasi. The fried beef ribs is squeezed against a mortar filled with sambal, and usually served with lalab vegetables and steamed rice. It was first popular in East Javanese Surabaya city, and now has spread across Indonesia.

There are a lot of choices, ranging from chicken to beef, but their speciality has always been the Iga Penyet I mentioned before. They provide you with a choice of the local chili sauce being mild or spicy, so I guess it is fine for people who can't eat spicy food and at the same time wonderful for chili lovers :D One of the drawback of this menu is that the beef is rather hard to chew... It took me a long time to chew just a small bite before swallowing DX

Here is a picture ~ :

The outlets are available almost everywhere in Jakarta. I ate this in Senayan City today though ^^ The picture above looks so yummy that I feel hungry again D:

Overall it is one of the best store where you can find delicious Indonesian food :) Do make sure you chew enough before swallowing teehee >:3
