Anime Review: Kuroko no Basuke

As the title depicts, this series has sports as its theme. It is really famous and has a relatively huge fandom. It is one of the best anime I have ever watched, though sport-themed animes are not  my thing. By BEST, I am saying that it is REALLY good :> ehehe~

Plot Summary: Tetsuya Kuroko is a former member from the legendary middle school basketball team known as "The Generation of Miracles". Upon meeting Taiga Kagami he decides upon becoming his shadow to help him become Japan's greatest basketball player. (Source: ANN)

So, about this anime... It has 3 seasons, with the first 2 seasons finished airing, and the 3rd season upcoming next January 2015 :D *can't wait*

This series offers interesting plot in a way; but on the other hand, to be honest, has a rather dull ending. The ending is super expected. Actually the plot is simple (saving the GOM by beating them), but the good thing is, as much simple the concept is, the author managed to make the story super amazing!! It is like, the plot matters more than the outcome (since the outcome is rather obvious). People usually tend to skip when they already know what is going to happen next. However, this series doesn't work that way XD The competitions are so intense that you might actually find yourself hitting your sofa and rooting after the characters lol cos that's what I did. Its nerve-wracking seeing the battle between 2 equally strong teams!!

The colours are sort of dull but the opening was good. The art is much better than the manga (of course). The 2nd season of this series has smoother animation than its prequel. It also shows more character development. For example, for once in a lifetime, we can see Murasakibara Atsushi (my fav character!!!! <3) being serious about basketball. He even cried when he lost to Seirin TnT sho shad.. The 2nd season also shows about Kagami's frail side :3 In the beginning he looks arrogant and think that he is the strongest. But soon we come to know that he is afraid of dogs! ~~

As much unrealistic the abilities of the GOMs are, KNB draws out the feeling of wanting to play basketball from its watcher >u< I remember the time when I finished watching the 1st season, I was stuck with basketball for the whole month mwahhaha XD

The author made the GOM very very very arrogant that they annoy me sometimes. As much as I love Murasakibara, I was really fed up with his arrogance... For the sake of the plot, this just had to be done TuT

MURASAKIBARA ATSUSHI <3
Top 5 favourite character:
1. Murasakibara Atsushi
2. Aomine Daiki
3. Kuroko Tetsuya
4. Seijuurou Akashi
5. Shun Izuki (He is funny in a way)

Overall it is - I repeat - very good. Those who have not watched this, you seem not to have lived your life fully yet xD

LOOK FORWARD SEEING MURASAKIBARA IN SEASON 2 OKAY !!~~~

Warung Leko

Those who loves Indonesian food, this place might be worth a try! This restaurant serves the best Iga Penyet I have ever eaten. Yum :9

For you who don't know what iga penyet is, here is a definition from Wikipedia: Iga penyet (English: Squeezed ribs) is Indonesian — more precisely East Javanese cuisine — fried beef spare ribs served with spicy sambal terasi. The fried beef ribs is squeezed against a mortar filled with sambal, and usually served with lalab vegetables and steamed rice. It was first popular in East Javanese Surabaya city, and now has spread across Indonesia.

There are a lot of choices, ranging from chicken to beef, but their speciality has always been the Iga Penyet I mentioned before. They provide you with a choice of the local chili sauce being mild or spicy, so I guess it is fine for people who can't eat spicy food and at the same time wonderful for chili lovers :D One of the drawback of this menu is that the beef is rather hard to chew... It took me a long time to chew just a small bite before swallowing DX

Here is a picture ~ :
IGA PENYET
The outlets are available almost everywhere in Jakarta. I ate this in Senayan City today though ^^ The picture above looks so yummy that I feel hungry again D:

Overall it is one of the best store where you can find delicious Indonesian food :) Do make sure you chew enough before swallowing teehee >:3

Anime Review: Kimi ni Todoke

This series has occupied my time recently and is also one of the best shoujo anime one can ever find!

Plot Summary: Sawako Kuronuma's one wish in life is to make friends. That's a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror, due to her resemblance to Sadako (after whom they nickname her) from the Japanese horror movie series The Ring. Shunned by her classmates, her life starts to change after she befriends her classmate, Shōta Kazehaya, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her. (Source: ANN)

This is one of the typical shoujo with sparkling male MC and a quiet female MC. The first season has 25 episodes while the second season has 12 episodes with 1 extra. Being a manga adaptation, it ended before the manga actually ends...so...after finishing season 2, you can read the continuation of the story in the manga :D except if there is any sign of season 3 ><

The opening song of the first season is really good, and its instrumental version is often used as the background music in the anime itself. It contains comedy on some parts, and being a shoujo anime, of course it has a lot of heart warming moments where us girls can fangirl about ^u^

The art is not that good as compared to the other shoujo series, but it is still fine because Kazehaya still looks handsome ehehe :3

*SPOILER ALERT*

Kazehaya is really the perfect type of boyfriend one can ever want... I really feel bad for Kurumi as her long long long long love was unrequited, and she lost to a gloomy girl like Sawako. Truthfully I don't really like Sawako because she is so much of a cry baby. She literally cried in almost every time and every where in the series -,-

I find the love between Ryuu and Chizu very cute >u< I do hope they will get married one day lol.

Overall it is a pretty good series and the shoujo lovers out there should not miss this series!! :D

Imperial La Mian and Ron's Laboratory

Saturday nights are always the best time for a family dining. If you were in a dilemma of where to eat, Imperial La Mian is your best option. This place is one of the must-visit-or-regret type of restaurant!

Front
It was REALLY SUPER DUPER crowded. At first I was reluctant to go in because of the long waiting list. However, good food comes with good price, so I guess waiting for a while might be a pretty good...effort?

Like the usual Chinese restaurant, they offer noodles, dim sums and other Chinese cuisines. The name already depicts their best seller food -- Noodles!! The noodles are home-made and therefore fresh and taste really good >u<

For the first time trying this restaurant, I decided on "Noodle with Sliced Beef in Chilli oil" . Here is the comparison between what's in the menu and reality :P

MENU

REALITY
Well, though the difference in picture is really great, it doesn't really matter as long as the taste is great right ? :D For people liking spicy food, this might be a good choice. As much as I am not into Chinese food, this is an exception ^^ Do try this restaurant if you are hungry haha ~

So here are the insides and see how full it is ><

Some Chinese-ish decorations at the back

DESSERTS
DISHES
Very crowded desho~ It's not like those customers come for nothing! Although they offer good food, their service is pretty dissatisfying. It took us around 10 minutes just to order something!! It was really hard to get hold of a waiter. Everyone was really busy. The annoying thing was, some of the waitresses are busy chit-chatting rather than taking down our orders -_-

Overall, its a fine place to dine :D

For desserts, I decided to go for Ron's Laboratory all time famed GELATO :D The line was so long... It took me 15 minutes just to queue for order -3-
I have never tried Ultimate Dark Vader, so I decided on that one.

ULTIMATE DARK VADER
It looks so untidy because it was almost closing time (I got that at 10PM) and the outlet was still very crowded, so I guess the waitress is in a hurry of finishing the orders and somehow messed up a little on the chocolate topping >u<

The Ultimate Dark Vader: Dark chocolate gelato with chocolate cookies inside, topped with bittersweet chocolate sauce. (Rp.55000/cup)

Truthfully I regret ordering this because I dislike bitter stuffs :( . This gelato is made from pure cocoa which tastes really bitter to me. I couldn't finish it in the end. However, if you love bitter cocoa, this is a perfect choice for you because it has a unique taste and won't make your stomach feel nauseated lol. However if you are the sweet-lover type of person, this might not be recommended for you -u-

Overall, though this taste doesn't work well with everyone, I'm sure the other variants taste much sweeter :'D gonna try the red velvet next!

Anime Review: Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (Still, the World is still Beautiful)

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii is one of the best shoujo anime I have ever watched!! Being a manga adaptation, it sure has a great and interesting plot :D

Plot Summary: Nike, the fourth princess of the Rain Dukedom, holds the power to call forth the rain. She travels to the Sun Kingdom to marry Sun King Livius for her country, despite her own reluctance in the matter. She soon discovers that the King, who conquered the world in only three years after his ascendance to the throne, is still a young boy. Despite being total strangers at first they start to understand one another and develop an emotional bond with each other. (Source : ANN)

One of the most important thing that this series offers is the song. As, of course, we can't hear audio coming from a manga, the animation sure puts enough effort to create a wonderful song suitable for the plot. It is a sad song desu :( but a wonderful one >u<
Gratitude to the seiyuu of Princess Nike, Rena Maeda, for singing such a heartwarming song with a soothing voice ~u~

This series has a unique romance between an elder female and a younger male. Even so, it is NOT weird at all!!!! The younger male, Livi, is a very mature King :) I feel this series lacks promotion since many people here didn't seem to notice its publish...

Overall, this is a must-watch for all shoujo lovers out there!! You can watch this series at www.animehere.com ^^

Cooking Seminar !

One of the fun things to do with your girl-friends is to COOK together! So if you are looking for a fun activity to do in the boredom of the holidays, this alternative might be a good one for you :D

There are a lot of easy dishes that even an amateur can do. For example are the food cooked in the seminar!

Dishes:
1. Pizza
2. Brownies
3. Corn Fritter
4. Nutella Bomb
5. Smoothies
6. Milkshakes
7. Fruit

Credit goes to www.laurainthekitchen.com for the delicious food recipe :)

It is really hard to manage all foods to be done in a mere 4 hours. So, division into teams is the efficient way to cook all dishes in a short time :) It is a hot and tiring job in the kitchen. Thankfully it rained in the middle of cooking haha XD

The efforts are paid when the dishes are all done. You get to enjoy eating a variety of cookings with your friends. Overall, it is worthwhile to be doing this activity :)

Anime Review: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April)

Here is an anime I recently watched and I'm REALLY excited in sharing this >u<

Plot Summary: Kōsei Arima was a piano prodigy until his mother died when he was eleven years old. The shock of losing her made him lose any interest in piano, and his life has felt monotonous ever since. Then, when he's fourteen, his childhood friend Tsubaki introduces him to her classmate Kaori, a free-spirited violinist. Her enthusiasm reignites his interest in music and in life. (Source: ANN)

If you love classical music, you might like this series. I was all tensed watching this because of the strong competition between musicians, and of course, I want my favourite character, Arima Kousei to win though the chance is very less :(

This anime displays a lot of classical pieces from Beethoven and Chopin. The violinist, Kaori, is really cool too!!

The most exciting about this anime is the....SEIYUU!! I am really interested in voice acting, and thus led me to the research of the famous voice actors around. And know what? The seiyuu of Arima Kousei is no other than NATSUKI HANAE-SAN, the same seiyuu of Kaneki Ken (Tokyo Ghoul) and Kaizuka Inaho (Aldnoah Zero)!!!! The thing is, though the voices sound nostalgic, I didn't notice at all -,- *da power of seiyuu*

THE OPENING SONG OF THIS ANIME IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. It is Hikaru Nara by Goose House. DO search for them in youtube and listen!!!! Its really good >u<
